bipole speaker placement

I recently bought a 2 bipole speaker so I can upgrade my 5.1 channel
set-up to 7.1 channel. Wheres the proper location for for this kind of
speaker? Should I place it on the rear or use it as a sorround left and
right speaker?

Bipole speakers are best used on the side wall, alongside the listening position, and preferably relatively high up. So if you current have conventional speakers on the surround L/R channels, I'd move these to the surround backs, and use the new ones as the surround L/R.
