Bi-Amping with £6 cable or standard stereo with £15 cable

Hi all,

What should give better results - bi-amping with for example Chord Carnival Silverscreen, or spending the same money but for standard stereo but much higher quality cable like £15-£20 per meter.

If you're referring to bi-wiring (bi-amping is 2 amplifiers), I'd go with a single run of better cable. You could always double up later.

no, I am talking about bi-amping on 7.1 amplifire Pioneer LX82 with Tannoy DC6T.

Ok. Both have their benefits, but bi-amping would normally win over.

Stone - When you get a quote for the chord carnival silverscreen, make sure you ask how much extra it is for the 4-4 termination. The chord website adds an additional £80 on for doing this. You need 4-4 to be able to bi-amp.

LOL. Yes thats what puts the price up.

Btw your Lx82 manual will have a section that describes how you bi-amp your speakers. But I can help if you are unsure.
