Can any speaker with four terminals at the rear be bi-amped? (After removing the links between the terminals, of course)

Just bought some Q Acoustics 1030i and the manual mentions bi-wiring, but not bi-amping?? Wanted to bi-amp them to an Onkyo 606.

They have the four terminals........anyone know?

As far as I'm concerned, this is bi-wiring. You need two amps (e.g. pre + 2 power amps) to bi-amp.

Your speakers are bi-ampable and bi-wierable (because they have 4 terminals each). But you would need another amp to bi-amp your system.

Thanks guys,

Its all sorted....I knew how to do it with my onkyo 606 av amp, just was surprised that the speaker manual had no reference to bi amping them, but a section about bi wiring, so needed reassurance it was acceptable.

Necj Trdin - as I have an av amp, I am using the amp with the fronts bi-amped and a 5.1 surround sound for movies. The extra two channels from my 7.1 amp is the extra amp driving the fronts.

Sounds even better now.........anyone that wants to get the best possible music reproduction (2 channel) needs to bi amp their speakers. It as more clarity, bass and separation as well as better dynamics!!!!!

Well pleased with it all now........
