Hi
Please could somebody help - i have the onkyo 605 and quad lite package. The onkyo book says use speakers with 8 0hm or higher for bi amping. My quads are 6 ohm - Will this damage my receiver?

thanks
Jamie

I'd follow what the book says as in my opinion it could (hence the warning in the book).

If you attach two speakers in parallel (which you do effectively when bi-amping) then you half the impedance. If you halve the impedance you double the amount of current the speakers will draw from the amp. Presumably its warning you that the amp isn't capable of supplying that much current or will exceed its designated thermal design boundaries if it does.

My opinion, don't do it if the book tells you not to.
