I've recenlty "upgraded" to an arcam solo movie 2.1 from some classic but rather old seperates. (Audiolab 8000a, MarantzCD63se) and have been surprised at the sound that I'm now getting from my Quad 11's. ie more base than i'd thought possible.

I had originally planned to add a decent sub, but am now toying with the idea of bi-amping as there seem to be a lot of arcam bargains around.

My main interest is music rather than dvd, and "detail" a priority over "bass".

Any thoughts chaps, (& chapesses) (if that's how you spell it)

Bi-amping the passive way isn't really worth the bother or expense, no power gain and all that, but adding a good sub can make a huge difference.
