Best Way To Clean a Plasma Screen?

My Panasonic Plasma has lots of streaky marks and I can't seem to clean it properly with the cloth provided. What is the best way to clean a plasma screen? Are there any good cleaning products out there that won't damage the screen?

Hi

Any spray glass cleaning product will do. Just spray the cloth not the screen - easier before you turn it on as well. Smears easiet to see and the fluid won't dry as your cleaning

I would be very carefull before using any old glass cleaner on you Plaz as you may well find that it might just strip some of the anti-reflective coating off the outer glass and cause perminant damage! There are plenty of specialised plasma cleaning products out there tho personally I find a good quailty micro-fibre cloth cleans my 3 plasmas without any need for chemicals.

AM Screen Cleaner from Currys, it's around £14.99 and the best screen cleaning kit I've had to date.

Hi,

I'm a window cleaner and like to think I know a little sumthin' sumthin' about cleaning of different surfaces.

So here's my top tip for perfect, smear free finishes on all indoors surfaces. We're talking mirrors, speakers, A/V stands as well as TV screens.

Firstly, forget any 'cleaning product'. It doesn't matter if it says 'smear free' or any such nonsence. Don't buy them. (I'm only talking about internal serfaces here. You need cleaning solution for external windows, but that's a different story).

Secondly, go to http://www.wintecs.co.uk/catalog/product_info.php?cPath=57_24&products_id=915 and buy two of the cloths. They're a few quid each, but you'll never have to buy them again as for domestic use, they last forever!

Thirdly, how to clean: Wet one of the cloths under the tap (hot or cold. Makes no differrence) and thoroughly wring out all excess water so the cloth is 'damp'.

Then use this cloth to wipe over the surface you are cleaning.

Then, use the other cloth, which is dry, to buff off the water using gentle, circular motions. The whole cleaning will take a minute, tops.

VOILA! Perfect finish, every time.

my old dear has cleaned her plasma and has damaged the anti-reflective coating. is there any way to repair this?

According to my wife, we have an anti-static cloth supplied by Panasonic for cleaning our plasma which we use dry.

:dance: Though I'd give these cloths a try, had dried hot chocolate splashes on my Panasonic plasma tv. Ordered two used one damp & buffed with the other as recommended & it worked beautifully. My screen looked brand new. Buffed up my I-pad with no effort too!
