Hi Guys

I am looking at getting a Plasma/LCD TV.
I am looking at the Pioneer KRL-37V as I have always liked Pioneer stuff. I did want a 42inch but apparently Pioneer have stopped doing these.

So my question is: Is the new 37inch TV so much better than the existing 42inch to warrant losing the extra inches? I can get the KRL-37V for about £850 and not the RRP of around £1500.
Or, is it there a really decent 42inch plasma/LCD out there that can give me the best of both words?

Thanks for your time :)

Hi David,

While the Pioneer KRL-37V is a great set - especially at £850 - we think you can buy better (and its predecessor, the 42in plasma Kuro, was truly exceptional).

Our new issue has a Supertest of the latest 40-42in plasmas and LCDs, so you should get some inspiration there. If you can fit in the larger size of set, and don't intend to sit right on top of it, i'd definitely go for 40-42in over 37in.

Our video on How to get the best from your TV could be helpful, too.

If I could spent a bit more and get a PDP4280XD would you think that would be worth the extra £££'s?

Also, does the PDP4280XD compare with the present batch of 42 inch TV's out there at the moment?
I am guesing this months edition of Whathifi doesn't compare this TV against the present 42 inch TV's on the market as it has been discontinued from what I have been told?

Thank you for your help though. I do think I will opt for a larger screen :)
