Best picture low spec TV

I want to buy a 30" TV for my kitchen. I want a good quality picture but dont need all the connectivity. Do I have to buy a TV with all the connectivity in order to get the best quality screen?

If not reccomendations would be welcome.

The Samsung 5000 series gets a very favourable review on av forums. Also I viewed it myself, although the one I saw is from a few years ago: a 32 inch hdready. Very respectable picture and good sound.
32 inch 5000 series samsung is what I would go for.
