Looking to buy a passive 3d tv for my home cinema and don't know if i should buy a discounted 2013 model in few months or the newer models. i had my eye on the LG 47" 620V and a 47" panasonic. sony is bit expensive IMO and dont want an active tv.

don't want to go below 47"

Do you think i could grab a 55" passive LG, Sony or Panasonic in a few months if prices drop a bit? dont care for smart features etc just want good picture quality on a big screen.

Whatever brand you buy , all passive screens are made by LG. Over the next couple of months, when the new models arrive, prices of 2013 models will drop.

so do you think its realistic if i think i could grab any 55" tv from sony lg or panasonic for around £750?

or maybe a higher model 47" may have better picture quality?

the models i've found that look appealing are the:

Sony KDL55W805A £899

LG 55LA690V £999

Panasonic Viera TXL47DT65B £899

SHARP AQUOUS LC60LE651K £899

all these tv's are 2013 models correct? i dont know how much they will drop by september but hopefully to around £750?

don't know about the sharp's picture quality compared to the others listed but 60" for 899 is huge! think the sony's already on offer too reduced £150 so that may not be an option

I may be wrong but i doubt that their will be any 2013 tvs by september, and if their are, prices won't have dropped that much and quite possibly the tv would be second hand or ex-display, you would be better off buying a 2014 tv in september/october, their prices will continue to drop at least untill christmas.

This year's 1080p TVs are significantly cheaper than last year's. I won't be surprised if the prices fall to less than £700 by June.

i see. do you think the picture quality will be much improved over the 2013 models? if the LG 47LA620V 2014 equivalent will be the same sort of price by september maybe it's best for me to get a 55" 2013 model if i can for around my budget, if i can't then the 2014 models i will have to choose from.

after demoing a few at richersounds i think a 55" tv is the perfect size for me. 47" is a bit too small for me but my budget does not allow me to be this flexible in choosing better size screen's :( such a shame that it costs hundres pounds more for an extra 8 inches of screen
