which do you think is the best tv panel on the market? must be HDR, UHD (4K) and either quantum dot or OLED panel; also 65 to 77 inches. connections must be HDMI 2.0 with HDCP 2.2 support. BUDGET UP TO £10,000

Panasonic OLED is the best TV on the market.
It's not "Ultra HD Premium" though, and for OP's budget, I would recommend the upcoming LG G6 Signature.
He didn't ask for that. Besides LG TVs are not as good as the Panasonic.

what is the difference between ultra hd and 4K? My understanding is nothing; it's either 4K with HDR as the final spec. Isn't uhd just another word for 4K ?

To answer the OP: oled is the best panel whether it's an lg or Panasonic and the latter is an lg panel with panasonics superior software/engine that gets the best out of the lg panel.

there are some good lcd led lit TVs out but not as good as oled if you want the ultimate black levels.

then there is the projector route if your room and viewing conditions can justify 1, and is the route I'd take if I had your budget.

i would wait for the 2016 oled panels to come out if your are wanting a tv..

I think, as others have said, that the imminent LG G6 signature series (65", 77") will be the one to beat. However, I'd also wait for a review of the Samsung KS9000 (I think) and also the forthcoming Sony XD759405, which will cost "only" £5,000 at Richer Sounds.

A fairly serious point is that it is a mistake to be too concerned with ticking boxes on the specifications front - must be OLED or quantum dot. What if the Sony, which I believe is neither, gets a briliant review (and it might, because its predecessor last year was wonderful)? Would you disregard it for not being OLED or quantum dot, even if the picture is terrific?

I'm alluding to the "Ultra HD Premium" badge, which only some TVs that sport the specifications can apply.

Hmm, funny how you didn't say that when you kept on telling us how good your now-departed LG 55EA980W OLED was.
:D

Let's wait and see what the reviews say. The G6 has some significant advantages over the current Panasonic OLED. Besides, Panasonic isn't releasing another OLED TV in 2016.

The "best Ultra HD panel in the market" which the OP is asking will include the "Ultra HD Premium" badge.

The LG G6 Signature series will be 25 percent brighter, and now offer a wider color gamut that equals 99 percent of the DCI/P3 color space, as well as full HDR support including Dolby Vision compatibility.

They might release one at the end of 2016 like they did with the current one at the end of 2015.

this time next year, I bet you have another to gel :)

Panasonic had unveiled the OLED TV at CES last year. This model was never sold in the US (the biggest premium television market), only in Europe. And this year, Panasonic did not announce any OLED models at CES. So it's unlikely this year.

No wonder it's so expensive!

LG Must be stiffing them on the price of the panels. But then isn't Panasonic now doing what so many get on B&O's case for doing? I mean buying in technology, adding in some proprietary tech and then charging a premium price for it?
