What would be the best method of connecting my ipod to my Denon AVR 3310 receiver for sound quality. My i pod will only contain my cd collection uploaded via Apple lossless.

Woukld a seperate dac be advised etc

Thanks in advance

i recently bought a qed j2p wire to connect my ipod and laptop to my amp.

Was really pleased with the sound quality.

bought a 3m one off ebay for about £30 , its like this http://cgi.ebay.co.uk/QED-Performance-Audio-J2P-1-5m-Red_W0QQitemZ390254539424QQcategoryZ116850QQcmdZViewItemQQ_trksidZp4340.m506QQ_trkparmsZalgo%3DNGRI%26its%3DI%26itu%3DUA%26otn%3D8%26pmod%3D370455152628%26ps%3D63%26clkid%3D5383565419539797683#ht_1196wt_905

I am thinking about buying HRT music streamer II DAC instead though as im looking for some serious audio quality. anyone have any experience with this DAC?

QED J2P is a good cable, but its always worth connecting the iPod using the dock connector if you can as this bypasses the iPods internal volume control. Any good iPod dock with a dock only connector to stream music will do this - for the best sound, a proper "iPod transport" like the Onkyo NDS1 or higher up the Wadia are good bets.

Yep they are your only bets, there are no others that bypass the ipod DAC. I have the ND-S1 hooked up to my MF M1 DAC. User interface is bloody awful but the sound is great

The cheaper option is a cable which goes from the line out dock at the base of the ipod (LOD) to phonos to connect to phono inputs on the amp/receiver. That way you bypass the ipods amp and use the better one in the actual amp. Check out the Russ Andrews GQ-24 cable.
