Best home automation voice control?

Alexa / Amazon Echo Dot / Google Home or other?

Currently I have a hand full of z-wave light switches and dimmers, and I'm using a Samsung Smartthings v2 hub. I'm going through the house one room at a time. Later I want to add thermostats, door locks and cameras.

Wife thinks Alexa records everything said in the house....
I know my tinfoil lined underpants prevent that but....

You will not go wrong with either. Currently, Alexa is ahead of the game, but I'm sure Google will quickly catch up. I prefer the "more human" Alexa.

Had to get the Google. Apparently the wife has a thing about some woman called Alexa she knew years ago. Wimmin, huh?

Anyway the Google is working fine. Somehow sounding a little robotic is a little less unnerving too.

Now all I need to do is sort out the light switch names so they're less ambiguous and get the Samsung Smartthings hubs to "see" the Samsung TV's...

You can change the wake word to "Computer" instead of Alexa.
