Hi I have a 20 year old pair of Seinnheiser HD410 and would like a new pair to with my Arcam A28. I listen to a wide range of musc and don't want anything with too much base as I have Chord Chameleon Solver Plus fro my DACMagic which produced quite a lot of bass.

Help, ideas please.

Cheers

If you are happy with your HD410s, but still want to try out other headphones to see if any could be better, head to a Currys/PC World with an mp3 player and try out the huge range of Sennheisers that they have on display. Avoid the bass heavy versions that Sennheiser have dotted through their range. Another brand to consider who do not do heavy bass, but are difficult to find to audition are AKG.

Lastly, the stalwarts from Grado with the SR60i and SR80i have great dynamics, detail and clarity.

You should consider comfort and how much sound leaks out of the headphones and if that is an issue as well.
