Best connect for Music. HDMI or not ?

Whilst happy with HDMI for cinema through Yamaha 2065 and Sony S570, I would like to know the best interconnect for CDs. Will I benefit from analogue, optical or coax or am I better off staying HDMI for all software?

Is there a 'general' answer to this or is it specific to my hardware.

With that amp and that player, I'd stick with HDMI.
