Hi all,

I have a budget of around 1k to buy a new home cinema amp. I've been looking into the sony 5400 but now that sony have just released the 3600 and 5600 ( both 1k and 2k respectively ) I wanted advice on what amps are upcoming and will give me the most bang for my buck for music and movies.

I have sony blu-ray and monitor audio RS6's and KEF iQ5 so would like something to deliver big sound.

cheers

If you subscribed you'd know by now. [*]

Both the Onkyo TX-NR808 and Yamaha RX-V1067 have received favourable reviews in the latest mag. Forum rules dictate I can't go into details or give test winner spoilers.

Big Aura:and faod, I'm not inducing you to tout for business. Feel free to say "it can be found for that"!!

No problem, understood.

I was giving examples 'around' the £1k mark. The Pioneer can actually be had for less, the Yamaha, just over - I'm not sure if it can be had for exactly £1k.

I can stretch upwards for the right amp.. and down too ! seems like the latest mag coming out tomorrow has a new yammy and the sony under review so maybe good ol' what-hifi can supply the answers I'm after.
