best amp to ipod cable

The iChord from the Chord Company is available in lengths up to 9 metres but is a good deal more expensive.

Another vote for the GQ-24. There is a similar cable available on ebay for £30, search 'phono LOD'. Such cables bypass the ipod's amp and that makes for better sound and easier volume control as your main amp does the work instead.

Got to agree, the GQ-24 is brilliant. Ive got it connected to my cyrus2 amp through the cd input and its just fabulous. My brother had his connected to a Sony 1200es cinema amp through the front video inputs and he was blown away by its performance, had Russ Andrews brought out one with the video connection as well it would have been the icing on the cake.

Why can't I simply get a cable that takes the digital output from the ipod for me to plug into my DAC?

Why do I need a "dock" to give me a digital signal first? The ipod must give digital out for the connection to PC.

I'm obviously not fully understanding this
