I'm trying to help my friend decide on a new TV, at the moment he has a LG 26LX2R which was a nice unit when he got it, when XBOX360's first came out but now the image retention has gotten rediculous and he needs something new and a little bigger.
Budget is £400-£600 and main use will be gaming on XBox360 and Wii as well as watching Standard Def Sky-TV and occassional usage as a secondary PC display.
Because of the tiny require to use as a PC display my mate was convinced he should a 1080p TV so get the best resolution possible but I do not think the amount of use it will get will justify the cost and it will have no 1080p sources running through (SKY HD, Blu-Ray etc).
Things we are looking for from the desired box
High Contrast Ratio
Good Connectivity (Ideally 3 x HDMI ports but at least 2)
Nice asphetic design
The 2 we are debating over at present are
LG 32LB75 = £449
or
Toshiba 32AV505D = £449
Another was the Tosh 32XV505DB = £649 (1080p candidate, but read in What Hi-Fi that the colour was somewhat washed out).
If anyone has any experience with the above 2 sets I'd appreciate some honest feedback or if anyone can make any alternative suggestions they would be welcome too.
