Best 32 Inch - Playstation 3

Hello all

Budget and Reviews Read have withered down my choice of 32 HDTV into 2 title contenders

LG 32LB75 or Sony KDL-32P3020

I am buying this purely because of the PS3 (my 30th bday gift) I dont even have a TV at the moment. These two sets listed above seem a cut above the rest, nothing obvious sticks out 'cept the LG offers the 1080 imput. (not even sure what the hell that means! i presume its good)

Before i press the buy button just wanted to run it past the experts here. £500 Budget so any suggestions must adhear to this. An energy efficient model would get preferential treatment.

Well, WHF recommended the Sony as it's Super Test winner back in March and the Panasonic TX-32LMD70 close behind it. Are you going to be hooking the PS3 up to any sort of stereo / surround hi-fi? It's just one of the low points associated with the Sony is the sound apparently.

EDIT - Mind you, having said that, just read the reviews again and the sound on the Panasonic is also average and with the LG, although sound was clear, it didn't go very loud.

The ps3 has a digital sound output, so i'll use that in the future...i.e once i pay off the credit card. Sound isnt a big factor, i just want somthing that i'll keep for the next couple of years, somthing i wont regret because it didnt have the superduper next generation feature..... ah the pearils of new technology....

Well, all the TVs mentioned are HD Ready (i.e. maximum output of 720p) but will accept a 1080p signal (which is the highest resolution for the PS3) and will also accept 24fps (which is important for Blu-Ray playback). So there's nothing to go on there. The LG has 3 HDMI inputs, whereas the Sony and Panasonic only have 2, but if you're only going to hook the PS3 up, this isn't really a worry. I haven't seen them in action, and if you're going to buy blind, you can do a lot worse than trust the WHF guys with the Sony on the picture front!

looks like its a sony... I'm actually gonna go to the newsagent to see if i can get the march issue. I'lld like to read what thge experts have to say. Thanks for your imput, appreciate it.

No worries at all - you'll struggle to get the March issue I'm afraid, the April issue's been out over a week now. You can order back issues on 08456 777813 though if you want to wait before you buy (tricky though I know!).

Great film by the way - I don't think I ever laughed as hard during the cliff scene at the end!

i am still waiting for there to be a better comedy.
I know there are some serious contenders, but the more i watch the Big Lebowski the more i'm sure of its crown as 'the best dam comedy ever' Each charater is so well written and acted, its pure genius.
