i use a bbe sonic maximiser 362sw for my PA rig when djing, helps control the subs (8 W bins :D ) and gives the system a bit of 'sparkle' and a 3d sound.

i have only really heard of these devices being used for large PA rigs or nightclubs, have no idea if they have any use in hi-fi, but i may experiment a bit when bored one day soon.

i also use a DBX 120a subharmonic bass processor, would love to try it on my home sub one day, but scared it'll kill it in a big bassy death!
