The BBC seem obsessed with adding prompts for their interactive services on Freeview. There is a Press i message all through the news programs and now they are adding them to other programs. I certainly don't want these messages burnt into my screen.

Is there a way to disable this interactive service to avoid all this screen graffiti? So far, I've only found pressing the green button gets rid of these messages, I would like a permanent cure.

Don't think so, but can't see how this is any different from all the other channel's DOGs. Do you really watch that much BBC stuff to get screen burn? See Andrew Everard's comment on this post concerning screen burn with Sky's logo!

I guess I just don't want all the DOGs and messages that the TV broadcasters foist on us, I'm more that happy with a plain picture!

I was hoping there was a software patch to disable this latest menace. Maybe the tuner manufacturers will provide this option if it becomes too annoying. I was thinking of getting a spare remote and taping the green button down to cancel any messages... crude but it should work.
