bass management

my friend had receiver that does not have bass management....how do we upgrade this receiver because when he come to my house and heard sound from mine that have bass management....he shock that sound are differently.....

Setting the speakers to small or large is the first step to bass management, if the amp does not have an active crossover setting, then it will have an internal factory setting, obviously if you have the manual setting you will be able to set according to your speakers frequency response. So if he wants to upgrade he has to find an amp with crossover settings (which is most of newer amps)
