Bars Top and Bottom

Hi everyone,

Im seeking help and advise,I have a Pioneer LX5090 and a panasonic BD player nothing wrong with the picture except every time I watch a Dvd I get black bars top and bottom, is there any way I can remove them,

that means the picture format is the originally recorded.losing the bars would make u also loose on both left and right sides of the picture.
