I have a maximum of £400 to spend on an iPhone/iPod dock. Is the Zeppelin still the best at this price for sound quality? I will be mostly using it in my kitchen and therefore seperates is not an option. Any other suggestions that I should audition would be most welcome.

Will the zeppelin play playlists from Spotify that I have in offline mode?

Many thanks.

You could also consider a Fatman. The new Carbon Trinity comes just within your price range and is one of the most impressive iPod systems we've heard. The only (possible) downside is that these must have separate speakers. This can sound a lot better and you have the flexibility of putting the speakers where you want it not next to the unit, but if you want a complete one box integrated system, the TEAC Aurb is a good alternative and a little larger.

Of the docks I have heard the Zeppelin is for me the best with its big, meaty and detailed sound. I have a Bose Sounddock and the Zeppelin is definitely better.

I presume by playing Spotify offline, you need to connect PC to dock and so looking at the inputs on the dock the only way I can see is minjack to minijack, going from the headphone out on the PC to the aux analogue/digital minijack in on the Zeppelin. The sound quality is likely to take a dive as such connections are not great, especially since you cannot do anything about background noise coming from the PC.

Many thanks for your responses guys.

I had a demo of the Zeppelin today and have to say I was very impressed. I also have an original Bose Sounddock and the Zep sounded far superior. It also plays my Spotify offline playlists. (Spotify playlists on my phone that I can listen to without a web connection)

Unless anything new comes out before xmas, I will treating myself to the Zep.

With your budget you could consider the Bose Soundock Portable, which sounds superior to the original sound dock and also has a rechargeable battery so can be easily moved into whatever room in the house you want it in!

I did a lot of searching within the various docks last year, and by far and away the Zeppelin was the best, not only sound but nothing comes close on the Looks

Glad you decided on the Zepplin, have had mine for a few months and everyone who has heard it says the same thing WOW, also I use mine to play musical accompaniment when playing my flute, best of both worlds for me.

I've now got the Zeppelin and think it's awesome for what it is.

I want to wall mount it and have just seen that the B&W wall bracket is £50. This seems a bit steep. Would a solid wood shelf be a good alternative? - Any other suggestions would be great.

Many thanks

slightly off topic now but i bought aGeneva dock after auditioning the Zepp I thought it far more detailed and musical.Could be in a class of one here.

Was the the Model M or Model S? Have been looking at Zepp/Zepp Mini in awe for a little while.

I also think that the Zeppelin will in time become a design icon, it looks that good. And the sound is just awesome best £390 I ever spent
