B+W Speakers.....which ones

Blew my speakers up today, an old pair of castles. So thats done.

Heard the B+W 684s.....Didnt blow me away

Heard the B+W 683s......Er blew me away

Long time ago heard the 685s......Blew me away.

My living room is about 5 X 4 metres, so a bit worried that the 683s might bee a bit big for my room.....anyone opinions...

Personally I'd go for the 685, or the CM range...

I'd audition te Excite X32's also, they compare well to the B&W floorstanders. I found them to have a smoother less shouty when cranked up a bit, though I admit the way you can tune the port with the bung is very effective, and the B&W's have a very convincing bass extension.

I would highly recommend the 684's. Brilliant sound with music and films.

Think my amp combo is too powerful for the 684s thats all. thats why i looked at the bigger 683.

Liked the sound of the 683 aswell.

Our living room is the same size and the 684s really are sufficient. If you want better bass - and have little regard for your neighbours - you could push the boat out and go for the 683s.

I can't see how your amp (100w) will be too powerful for the 684s.
Have you heard the 684s or 683s with your amp?.

I had my 8000s powering the treble and my 8000p powering the bass. Bi- Amped...onto a pair of the 684s.

Its just how i felt at the time. I havent demoed my amps plugged into the 683s yet only heard them in showroom.

I think the 684s would be great off an int amp, but with my bi-amp combo i think the 683s would handle things better.

With discount i think the 683s work out about 150 pound more than the 684s...

750 pound ish give or take a few....

The 684's are more than capable of handling your 8000S/P combo, but if you prefer the 683's then go for them.
