Seriously? The last ribbon tweeter I spent time listening to was the Monitor Audio PL100 and "smooth" is the last adjective that I'd use to describe the sound. Vivid, vibrant, attacking, chiseled, but not smooth...

The Monitor Audio ones are a little different, but ribbons are generally smoother, like the ProAc ones, for example.

TWO magazine reviews seem to come to the same conclusion, that the stands are a important part of the speakers sound.
