Azur 540P Phono pre-amplifier

What's the role of a pre-amplifier ?

Can I use it together with my Azur 540A V2 ?

There are different types of pre-amplifiers. A phono pre-amp such as the 540P is designed to let you use a turntable with an amp which does not have a built in phono pre-amplifier. Basically, the signal which a turntable sends out is much weaker than a CD player for example, so it needs to be boosted. This is the job of the phono pre-amp which therefore goes between the turntable and the amplifier.

The Azur 540A V2 does not come with a built in phono stage, so if you want to use a turntable with this amp, you will need a phono pre-amp, and the 540P is a good choice. You will also need an additional set of interconnects.
