AVR passthrough HDR 10+

The new receivers which support HDR 10+ confirmed so far are: Yamaha RX-V4 / RX-V6 / RX-A2 / RX-A4 / RX-A6 / RX-A8.

If your HDR10+ source is a device with dual HDMI output (like most 4K UHD blu-ray players), you can connect your source to the HDR10+ ready-TV through its HDMI 1 output (picture only) and connect your source to the AV receiver through its HDMI 2 output (sound only).

What frustrates me is the FZ802 only has 2 full fat 4K HDMI connections, to which I have the avr connected to 1 and the BD player to the other so that I can get hdr 10+ for BD disks. I also have an amazon stick, and this is connected to the back of my avr but I can’t watch amazon prime in hdr 10+ because the Amazon app on the tv and BD player won’t do hdr 10+. So frustrating!!

Any advice would be appreciated!

An HDMI splitter might be the solution for you, to toggle between your player and Amazon stick. Which player have you got?
I think Series has got the Panasonic 9000 according to his signature. For some reason I always thought he had the 820 Panasonic though, is that you upgrading Series?

Yes I’ve upgraded everything, including the 15 year old focal 716 to 2019 716s!

yes I have the very expensive panny 9000 and upgraded from the 820; 50th birthday present from the wife.

hdmi splitter sounds like the ideal solution although I don’t want compromise on quality and it must be compatible with the harmony hub, any recommendations.

dont want to upgrade the x4400 really, it’s very good avr!
