I was thinking of buying a Hi-Fi Racks Podium for my LCD and Arcam/Cyrus kit, However, I'm not sure if it's worth spending that kind of money on the rack and kit (£900 CD, £1200 amp and power) and then sticking things on the same shelf?

Thanks

Hi billdean. What you can do is further isolate each bit of kit on the shelf. You can buy cheap and expensive isolation pods/stands on ebay, or as I have done, use small bits of wood. One forum member uses the head of a spoon with the handle cut off and a ball bearing placed inside the spoon. That is kept stable with blue tac. Then there are isolation platforms, granite place mats and even specialist black ravioli.......!

I find the tip of a spear from an Amazonian Indian to be effective with Wrigleys chewing gum (chewed for 23 seconds every week placed upon an Ikea chopping board to drive best results. I'll admit, having to re chew the gum isn't the most convenient :p
