i have dacmagic dac thats served me well,
but i bought a sony 810 av amp and now i am confused
as the av amps headphone out sounds just as good as
my mf xcan v3 headphone amp, fed from the dac
and the sonys built in dac sound just as good in every sense
as the dacmagic i use senny 650 and 600 headphones
so what i am trying to say is the sony at £199 is a steal
i am finding it more difficult to hear any diffreneces the more i buy
and think you have to spend big money for very small improvements
what do you think.

Brilliant! At this rate you could have a slim volume ready for the Christmas stocking-filler market.

No, it's not and quite easy to read through too. This chap's just writing phonetically I think. No issues with it here. If you like the Sony, stick with it. I'm sure it's more than capable.

Good one!

If you are unable to find the differennce it is a good find for you, for sure. Save some money by getting rid of the DAC

I fall into your category of challenged sensitive hearing, (may be you are not challenged), where in some products do not make so much of difference if they cross the minimum barrier.. I feel the same about speaker cables.. I have not see dedicated DACs doing so much better than a well to do AV Receiver but almost 90% people here can hear the differences.

Either ways, whether you do not hear the difference or Sony is a good find in this context, I must say you got lucky from the money spending point of view ;)
