I listen to Radio 3 a lot.

Is buying a second hand Audiolab tuner a big risk now in terms of reliability?(eg display bulbs etc.)

Does anyone know of good service providers if there are problems with this tuner?

Finally, will this tuner outstrip the Creek t50 tuner?

This site is supposed to be good for Audiolab servicing and repairs. There have been many positive comments on other forums regarding the service he provides. Try a google search for more info.

I know this doesn't answer the question asked, but I am always astonished at the breathtaking sounds that come from my old Harman Kardon TU9400 (as recommended by What HiFi way back when) whenever I fire it up.

Not an Audiolab, I know, but if you get the chance it's well worth a listen. Having spotted that the last one on ebay didn't get a single bid at $50, then there could be some bargains out there. Mine cost me £400 about 15 or so year ago and I reckon I got excellent value
