Audiolab 8000A Amp Advice

I have just bought an audiolab 8000A and would like any operation advice that you may have. I was told that it takes about 30 seconds 'turn on' when a click is heard - is this correct or is there a fault? Also how long does it take to get to its best performance? Any other advice appreciated.

My old 8000A (1986 version) used to click on and the red light came on about 5-8 seconds after the on button was pressed in. It worked like from the day I bought it and until I retired it (23 years)
