I have a Philips bdp300 and Im perfectly happy with it. However when I connect it to my NAD C370 via analogue outs there is a delay in the audio compared to the tv. Any ideas if there is a way round this?

Thanks for the suggestions but still no joy. Is this sort of delay normal and av recievers can compensate or is it a fault?

This kind of delay is absolutely normal in digital TVs and all current AVRs compensate for it either automatically or manually. A few BD players have an option to apply a delay to their audio internally (which I imagine is mainly gear at people connecting to an analogue amp) but the existence of this feature on the player is not common and limited to a few select models.

I have encountered the same problem with my Blu Ray
player;
the delay is with the output of the TV picture and not with the sound
through
the amplifier i.e. the sound through your amp is ahead of the sound and
picture
from the TV!

The analogue
audio
signal is likely to be transferred at speeds close to the speed of light
with
marginal delays within the amplifier circuits,
however the picture signal goes through very complicated decoding in
modern TV's
where up-scaling, 100hz , colour creation etc are applied.

Unless your Blu Ray has the option to delay the
analogue audio
output the solution is to use the TV's analogue audio output is the
source;
this should be in-sink with TV's own speakers so muting the TV sound is a
matter of preference.

I also had the idea that some BRay players had the delay function, but having read some manuals online I can't seem to find one that does.If someone knows a player that has this option please tell me: Thx.
