I called the UK seller for Audeze which also sell the other in ears of the brand and they were not even aware the LX existed!
After reading further into it there seems to be one important problem;
Audezes Planar in ears all seem to suffer from a large frequency deviation with a pronounced mid peak measured (audible) response around 1.5khz and a rolled off bass at the same time. - The way the company has gotten around it is by using DSD in their lighting cable to shape the sound to something apparently amounting to almost amazing.
The problem is that a) that cable is not included in the LX version (a standard cable is included) and b) even if one decides to purchase the clever cable ... it only works with iPhones!
Manually equalizing goes a little way towards eliviating the frequency anomality but, of what I gathered, is no substitute for the special cable.
On some reviews they are talking about Audeze working on an Android version cable but that hasn't happened yet.
So, for me at least, no good.
Without the DSD/DAC cable sound is apparently seriously squewed/flawed.
Shame.
