Hi,

I recently purchased the following kit:-

Cyrus CD8x

Cyrus 8vs2

Cyrus PSX-R

Spendor S5e

My ageing Target rack needs to be replaced and I was interested in the Atacama range as its highly thought of by What Hi-Fi but was alittle concerned with using glass shelves with the Cyrus kit, would it sound a little too bright?

Any advice or experience would be appreciated.

Thanks

Shayn

To be honest, as long as the rack is secure and sturdy, I don't feel that the material makes a great deal of difference.

Speaker stands can be more so, as the damping they provide can alter the sound characteristics of the speaker.

As you don't have a turntable (i.e. something that creates sound from vibration) I can't see much difference between stands - it's mainly about the look.

Does your ageing target rack need replacing due to sturdyness/looks? If not, and you are looking to upgrade for sonic benefits, you might be disappointed.

Shayn,

I have that exact setup with the Atacama rack - sounds great.
