Hi there, hope someone can help.
I have just purchased a Panasonic DMP-BD30 Blue Ray player and want to ensure I get the best out of it.
I am using an HDMI connection from it to my AV Receiver (Yamaha RX-V4600) and then HDMI from that to the screen (Panasonic TH-37PV500B)
My main question relates to the audio transfer I am using. I know my receiver can't decode the latest HD Audio formats found on some Blue Ray discs so am using multi channel PCM which I believe is the best available to me. Can anyone confirm this or offer better options?
I had thought of running 5.1 analogue for the audio but multi channel in on the receiver bypasses all of the calibration elements which seems to be a significant downside for minimal gain....?
Thanks
Kevin
