ASIO et al with wireless network

Interesting and rather complicated information about all the differing codecs available. My question is this.....are they relavant if yu stream wirelessly to an Airport Express. From what I understand (probably incorrectly) they are only being discussed in connection with soundcards. Please enlighten.

If you are streaming using itunes to AE it's all irrelevant for you. If you use Airfoil (app that streams over AE) then its a different story. (for ex: with Foobar you could use ASIO, Wasapi or Kernel Streaming.).

And all of this has nothing to do with the soundcard as when you are streaming you are bypassing the soundcard.
