Here's an interesting article from today's Guardian about the rebirth of the vinyl format, including a long section about Europe's largest remaining pressing plant, and the process of making records from master tapes.
I attend 'Vinyl Night' run by the most northern branch of Audio T in Preston, Lancs. The staff there do this in their own time and play a classic album all the way through. Like the London event, 'Dark Side Of The Moon' garnered a round of applause when it completed. Systems from £2k to £50k are used.
This is a great event, come along if you are anywhere near the area. The next one is 3rd March when they're playing Massive Attack's 'Mezzanine'.
And the reviews were interesting - but I'm not 100% convinced that these are "five of the best turntables" you can get. Can get at a given price point, maybe.
