I have KEF 3005's and some people say they are not good enough for a 1k amp, I am using a Pioneer 919, but I am looking at upgrade to Pioneer LX52 or Yamaha 2065 or similar

Do you really need larger speakers to get the best out of these amps?

You will need better speakers to get the best out of these amps. But even with the KEF 3005s you should see a nimprovement in performance.

The speakers may not get the best out of these amps, but the amps sure will get the best out of the KEFs

I'll second that. Danger is that in a few months you will want to upgrade the speakers to get the best from the amp. Never ending cycle lol

I've said many times on this and other forums, that the KHT3005 will work well with £500/600 AV receivers, but do sound much better with £1,000/1,500 ones.
