Is the sound quality of the arcam good enough or should I replace a 10 year old Brio amp (I use a Pioneer A400 too) with either a cambridge 840A v2 , Kandy K2 or the Denon pma1500AE.

I play through Epos ES14 speakers using a denon cd player. I am after very good sound quality but my wife would like a bit more space in the living room.

Will the arcam cut the mustard or will the other amps I've mentioned be appreciably better sound quality wise?

cheers Tonky

The Cambridge 840a is in a different league to the 25w micro system.

Is space-saving the prime consideration though?

How about half-width Cyrus, or speakers with in-built amps?

The Denon PMA1500AE leaves the Arcam for dust. Its an incredible amplifier whether at low or high volumes and a very good match for Epos speakers. I've never enjoyed my music as much as I do now.

Thanks to you both guys.

Music is the main consideration and if the arcam solo mini ran them very close my wife would like me to get it. As it is it's far more likely to be one of the other three now (for sure). I have been into Richer sounds and am in the process of setting up a listening session comparing the arcam to the 840A v2.

That will be your best bet, only you can decide. I suspect that the Arcam will sound good but not as good as the separates at a much higher price.

I used to have a Linn Classik and it wasn't a patch om my Arcam separates.
