Seems there's much interweb chit-chat re the rDAC's power supply unit (PSU) being the epitome of 'every expense spared' and, therefore, not worthy of Arcam's wee award-winner.
There are alternatives, such as the Teddy Pardo PSU that costs, umm, €300
FWIW, I've just upgraded my rDAC's PSU. Now hearing a wee bit more detail overall - but no added brightness or sibilance - slightly tighter bass and generally the rDAC now has a bit more 'spring in its step' 🙂
The hi-tech supplier/cost of this all-round improvement? A Maplin Low Power Multi-Voltage Desktop Power Supply, rrp £18.99, currently reduced to £9.99 - clickety
