arcam cd72 vs cd73

can anyone tell me the difference betwenn the arcam cd72 and cd73 please?

Looks identical to the 73 and sounds fairly similar. It was the predessor to the CD73T. Difference in sound? not night and day, more subtle. If you can afford it go the CD73, or if you can really stretch the budget look for a s/hand Exposure 2010s. it has been replaced with a MKII version, so the price on the original will plummet. Great Machine by the way.

CD72 had a Burr Brown DAC, 73 a Wolfson 8740 (the 'T' version was CD text), CD82/92 two Wolfsons 8740s, CD93 4 Wolfson 8740s and the CD192 the same. A few more tweaks but nothing major I think from memory (maybe a transformer?).

I've owned the 72/82/93/192 and not really much of a difference (if at all) until I got a CD192. The latest two FMJ machines use the Wolfson 8741 DACs, but I've not heard it so am unable to compare.
