Arcam bdp300 vs sony s790

Having noticed that arcam are sell the above BLURAY for £600 with a trade (any arcam cd/dvd player) is it any better than my current sony above?

i have a arcam av400 ringing monitor audio silver rx. I not interested in cd sound as I have arcam 93 CD player. Just wondering if it worth the upgrade ?

You already have an Arcam AVR, so I cannot see how Arcam BDP will benefit you.

I mean you're unlikely to notice any improvements. Demo & compare it yourself. Personally, I would stick with the Sony.

hi barrie,if you get a chance to check the bdp300 im sure you will be impressed as i was,for film and music,it's one the best players i have owned.see if your local hifi/cinema store will let you try it at home.

I don't have a local dealer up here that has one to demo, what hoping someone people might have some thought on weather it was worth the 200 mile trip

I take it Holborn in Aberdeen dont have one they could lend you for a test at home? Are Sevenoaks still alive in Aberdeen as well? Seems a bit strange that your local dealer cant lend you one, they should have a demo unit......

If you buy it online, you have 7 days to return it if you're not happy as per Distance Selling Regulations.

You cant buy a BDP300 online though. You have to go to a store.

Thanks for all the help guys, Think I'm just going to keep the sony for now, not sure if the arcam will be any better and don't fancy buy 1 online then sending it back if I don't like it ( seem unfair to the supplier) I have a freind in Aberdeen that some time come through for the weekend will see if he can source one, if the offer still on next time he's through

If you are still keen, you may want to try some other dealers in your "area". They may have a demo unit they could let you borrow on sale or return.
