Any owners of? 65inch tv? *flatscreen*

Just a general question really, has anyone had experience of a 65inch curved to at home?

What do you make of it?

is the curve a gimmick? Or are you genuinely impressed by it?

the reason I ask is my other half sits at quite an angle to the screen, so I want to know if that effects the experience?

my Samsung 50" plasma is on its way out, so I intend to replace it very soon.

any feedback would be very much appreciated.

I used to have the Panasonic curved OLED TV 65-inch and that was great. I liked the curve it didn't take anything away from the experience, I think I like my new flat one best though. I also had a curved 55-inch OLED TV and I loved that too. On OLED TVs curved TVs have great viewing angles too.

I think on LED's the viewing angle is restricted mind you its restricted on flat LED's TVs too.

Window shopping today,

decided to go for a flat screen, as the curved screen distorts too much from a side view (where my Mrs sits)

after weeks of trying to persuade her the 65 is the right size for us, she finally gave in!

So now looking for a 65inch flatscreen. Possibly a Sony, as they were the ones that we preferred.

If 3D isn't important to you, I would highly recommend Samsung UE65KU6400, currently available for £1399 or less. I set the same TV up yesterday in my family room, and the picture quality is stunning, with great screen uniformity.

I think 3D is all but done with.

Most new TVs don't support it.

Personally, it's enjoyable at the cinema, but that's about it.

ive been looking at the Samsung range too, as I already have a Samsung plasma, but the Sony looks to have the better build quality. No doubting the samsungs quality, I know it will be good.

And ordered the Sony KD65XD7505 .

Delivered next Monday. I've even booked the day off work so I can set it up.

i got a bit of discount, paid £1440.00

looking forward to my first tv upgrade in eight years or more!

I'm hoping the panel is one large bit!

Ill find out all these things when i open the box and read the spec.

From reading general stuff around the internet, Sony aren't disclosing much technical detail.

I'm sure it will do the business.
