Analogue Direct with Sony DA1200ES

I´m wondering how to involve my sub when listening to music through the direct function on my amp.

When direct is engaged only the front speakers are sent a signal as no signal is sent via the surround circuitry to the low level sub preout.

I can connect to the sub using its high-level inputs but from which connection on the amp, and will this produce the effect I'm after?

Bit of a newbie so any help appreciated.

If you connect the sub via high-level inputs, then you connect the sub high-level cable to the speaker outputs in parallel with your main front left/right speakers.
