So it appears from reading a few topics on here that AMPs follow a standard cycle of being available for a few months until the next models are released and the older ones are discontinued. From what I gather, the popular models from Yamaha (763/863) and Sony (2400) are coming to the end of a cycle and are hence hard to get at the best prices.
When the newer ones come out at the similar price points (as quoted by whathifi), are they usually offered only at that price or do the usual suspects (RS/Superfi etc) offer them at cheaper prices right off the bat?
I find it so fustrating that there is obviously still a high demand for these but supply seems to be stifiled.
I realise there is no guarentee that the newer ones will perform as well as these but it would be a good general indication to understanding the market for the future.
Cheers for any input.
