Hi !

I just went out and bought a pair of Monitor Audio RX6 speakers. What amps do people recommend to go with this?

Are Nad 326s ($500) going to be underpowered?

Arcam 18 ($1000) vs. Nad 356s ($800)?

Any other suggestions about an excellent match?

At the store, I was listening to RX6s with the Arcam 18s ($1000) as well as a McIntosh amp ($4000).

I'm assuming the more expensive stuff is going to sound 'better', but what's a good choice on a per dollar basis?

We've used many different manufacturers which have worked excellently with the RX6's - Cyrus, Naim, Rotel, Arcam, and the new Audiolab 8200 range. I usually tend to steer clear of warmer amplifiers as the resulting sound can be a little dull, as the RX6's do produce quite a full bottom end and midrange. Although the Rote, RA04 would do a pretty good job, I'd ideally recommend something like the Auidiolab 8200A which will bring out so much more of the RX's qualities.
