Collecting a 2m Chord Power Chord tomorrow (my prize from a Chord day at my local retailer), specifically 2m long so that I can connect the amp to a separate wall socket outlet, and not into the Tacima conditioner along with the TV, Sky HD box and BDP, the sub is already in a dedicated outlet

Theory is I will hear a more open and dynamic sound stage as I recall from the pundits, the amp won't be "strangled" (I think is the word) as it would/could be via the Tacima...................question;

Is this expected to be a night and day change or something more subtle as the Power Chord burns in ................will I indeed hear a difference? What should I expect................?

I think it depends on a lot of factors really. I took my sub off the Tacima and went into the wall instead. It got louder. I don't think it sounds better or worse because I'm pretty indifferent on the Quake's performance.

Suck it and see! Don't let it spoil your enjoyment though.

Yeah. In fact, it's a little annoying because I had it set up exactly how I like it but now I can't get it right. The volume pot is stepped and now two neighboring notches are either too quiet or too loud. I think I'll just put it back.

A tacima limits the transient maximum current delivery a wall socket does not.

Your sound will sound more open more dynamic and most important it is not restricted by limited current draw.

Thanks all for the replies.................

On my way to collect, will run in for the weekend and give some subjective feed back next week (always allowing for the rose tinted glasses)
