Quick one out of curiosity - how do you leave your amp when not in use - powered on or on Standby? Read something the other night where someone basically left the thing constantly on regardless of whether was in use.

Mine uses about 50 watts even on standby, so not at all 'green/eco' but then it was developed about 15 years ago. It means the blue lights go out, but that's about all the difference!

The upside is it sounds great immediately.

Mine stays in a state called 'network standby'. This means when I press the AirPlay symbol on iPhone or computer, the hi-fi springs to life and plays straight away (within a few seconds anyway) without having to make a new network connection every time.

It uses 0.4 of a Watt in standby mode.

Turned off when not using, its only sensible.

When I have had class A valve amps that draw 200w+ at idle, you would notice that!

blimey.

My speakers use about 9w each and I switch them off. Didn't realise how tight I was.
