hello all i am looking for a amplifier to go with my cyrus 6s and dynaudios 52 i was thinking maybe the cyrus 7? or kandy lll help most welcome.

Assuming you mean Cyrus CD6S, yes Cyrus 8VS2 would be great with the Dyns and CD6S.

If you're looking for something less bright than the Cyrus, you'll need an amp that's fairly ballsy. On that basis the Kandy MKIII or LIII could be the answer.

Depending on your budget, you could also look at Leema Pulse (selling typically for around £600-£650 on auction sites).

The Dyns are great speakers but need a good amp behind them

Leave the Cyrus 3 & 7; they were ok but the 8vs2 is where you should be looking but you may struggle as they retain their values well! There is an unofficial Cyrus forum so maybe look there as well as eBay and other hifi forums for one :)

Other amps I'd look at would be:

Arcam Alpha 10

Arcam DiVA A85

NAD C355BEE or C356BEE

Roksan Kandy LIII

All these will drive the Dyns very well indeed :)

thanks will all these amps work well with my cd6s?

Absolutely :)

It's still a great CDP so it'll gel with the amp and speakers well.

just make sure you've got good speaker cable & interconnects also such as Chord Odyssey 2 or QED Revelation speaker able along with a Chord CobraPlus or an Atlas Elememts Integea etc... :)

Any amp will 'work' but it's whether it'll gel with your other separates.

personally I'm not a fan of Naim and have heard the 5i numerous times with Cyrus, Marantz, Rega and Naim gear and Dynaudio, KEF and Montiro Audio speakers and couldn't get on with the sound. To smooth, dull and mellow...

I am using an 8vs2 with PSX-R in one of my systems. The output devices are the same as in the 6vs2 but it gains a more solid power supply.

Its clearly audible in a more 'solid' and effortless sound with more punch. Thats without the PSX-R.

I have always maintained that the 8vs2 plus PSX-R is (was) the sweetspot in cyrus's line up at the time. Any more (Pre's, Power etc) will add performance but at a price at which there are better amplifiers available, at least at the time when I had a cyrus system the first time round a few years ago. I can't comment on the new X-power or 8's.

Imho, you get a very good amplifier with the 8(vs2) if you get one in good condition at a fair price and contrary to popular belief, I don't find the 8 'bright' or harsh and I am quite sensitive to that aspect.

regards
