Amazon returns??

I recently bought an Aver Revo R3610 pc to use as a home cinema/hifi solution. However, there is an hdmi handshake problem between receiver and/or LCD and the pc. Basically, I can't get sound through hdmi. I've tried everything and spent a few nights on forums reading that it's a well known (infamous!) problem with the Nvidia sound cards.

I bought the pc from Amazon and I've filled in a returns sheet. Now, I have obviously opened the machine, added software, removed software etc. Do you think Amazon will refund me or not?

Yes they have to as the product is clearly not fit for purpose. And Amazon usually have no quibbles.

Can't guarantee, but Amazon have always been excellent with customer service for me when I've had to invoke it.

Ditto - i've returned both opened electrical goods and discs when they've not been as described.

I had to return to amazon products with problems twice. Both times no-problem returns, easy and quick refunds.

Another huge thumbs up from me for Amazon. My numero uno place for online shopping including gadgets. Their customer service is incredible regardless of the size of the company ! Give 'em a ring and explain your situation - they'll sort you out.

Thanks to all of you. To be honest, I've never had a problem with them before but because it's a computer, I wasn't sure. I've just found out that it's also not wireless draft 'N' as stated in the description.

I returned my 18-month old Vaio for a full refund from Amazon after it developed a motherboard problem. I formatted the hard drive before sending it to them. No problems with refund.

No problems with Amazon returns, major problems with another seller called Avides after they sent me the wrong sized hard drive. It took weeks to get my money back and they did not admit the fault was theirs, even though the box said 500gb and the bar code 1tb. I avoid other sellers now.
